Vanlife | A project of a life time

Welcome to our website where we will be sharing our adventure of a life time! But first we would like to introduce ourselves.

Jacques is from South Africa and I’m (Tessa) from The Netherlands. We met in South Africa in 2014 when i went to South Africa to teach kitesurfing in Langebaan where Jacques is from. In January 2020 we got engaged and in march we got married! Everything went differently as expected because of the Corona virus but we got married and that is the most important.

Work

Jacques works in the family building company in South Africa where they supply reinforced steel and rib and block decking for the construction of new buildings. But once we live in the van he will be focusing on his passion for photographing and filming.

I'm the owner of my own Dutch travel company Jouw Afrika reis and after corona i will be opening Your African honeymoon so i can also help people outside of the Netherlands/Belgium with unforgettable holidays to Africa. I also just opened a online web shop with sustainable products made in Europe Tessa goes global webshop.

The van After 5 years of travelling separately and together we bought a VW crafter van and now we are building our first home together! We really want to be able to live off grid as much as possible in summer and in winter, this is definitely is a challenge but we love a good challenge. We are insulating the van so much as possible, we have a good heater system and we will have our own shower and compost toilet. Right now we are in the middle of the conversion and we will be sharing everything about it!
